Think about your criminal defense very carefully

With the 4th of July right around the corner, people are going to be heading out to barbecues, parties and fireworks displays. Many of these are going to involve alcohol. Trying to make sure that you don't face any criminal charges over this holiday is important because nobody wants to be placed in a jail cell on Independence Day.

Your defense strategy is an important consideration

The criminal defense strategy that you choose for your case has to be based on the facts of your case. You can't think about what might have helped someone in a similar situation because every criminal case is different. We understand that it can be hard to figure out what you need to address with your defense but we can help you figure this out.

Know where to look for employment as a felon

Finding a job can be a difficult prospect if you are a felon. The thing here to remember is that you have to know where to look for work. You might not be able to get a high-paying executive job, but this doesn't mean that you have to resign yourself to having to deal with a minimum wage job either. There are many trades and careers that are open to felons.

Plan your defense steps with a trial in mind

Criminal defense strategies must be carefully planned. There are several things that need to be considered when you are working on your defense so make sure that you are prepared for this process. We realize that you might have concerns about where to start building your defense. We can review your case to help you find a direction you feel comfortable with for your defense. Qualified legal guidance may be the only thing standing between you and a conviction that may derail your life dramatically.

Field sobriety tests are only correct sometimes

When you are pulled over because the police officer thinks that you might be driving drunk, you might be told that you need to take a field sobriety test. These tests are important because they provide an insight into your impairment level, but you should know that they aren't always correct.

Lake Central teacher faces charges for using drugs in school

On a recent Wednesday, a 24-year-old teacher at Lake Central High School in Saint John, Indiana, was arrested for multiple drug-related charges. The English teacher was allegedly caught on a cellphone video snorting what is reportedly cocaine in her classroom. The video was taken by a student at Lake Central, who then -- with other students -- told the principal what they had allegedly witnessed.

Criminal justice cases may start long before charges are levied

Many people don't realize that the criminal justice process can sometimes start long before the defendant is arrested on charges. There are some cases that involve months or years of investigative work before the day when the warrant is placed. All of this means that the prosecution has one up on the defendant and that the defense team will have to work hard to catch up.
