Amanda grew up in Pendleton, Indiana, and graduated from Pendleton Heights High School. Amanda attended Indiana Wesleyan University where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s in Social Work. While pursuing her social work degree, Amanda worked at a residential treatment facility with juveniles involved in the legal system and was a member of the wind ensemble and orchestra. Amanda then attended Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she graduated cum laude. While in law school, Amanda was the chair of the Indiana University Student Outreach Clinic – Legal Services, which connected residents on the eastside of Indianapolis with needed legal services.  Amanda also interned for a semester at the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office. During the summers, Amanda worked as an intern in a medical malpractice defense firm and at Trapp Law, before joining the firm as an associate attorney.
